The coronavirus pandemic has resulted in the closure of many local businesses. Everyone who lives or often visits Freiburg couldn't ignore the fact that small local shops couldn't survive lockdowns, when their usual customers started ordering online. At the same time, the problem of lack of working space arose, when office workers were forced (and are now enjoying) to work from home.
But do we all have home which offers us productive and comfortable work? What if both parents work from home and have to constantly be on meet-ups? What if you live in a shared apartment or maybe even with parents who might work form home too?Maybe sometimes it is still nice to go and work some place else instead of just sitting at home all the time?
I always think of this when I pass another newly closed clothing or office supplies shop. So, I wanted to re-design one of such shops into a modern co-working space, located in the city center.
The goal is to reimagine the local Black Forest flavor to create modern, universal, but still familiar visual image of a co-working space in the center of Freiburg. To re-design a former office supplied shop into a cosy and feels-like-home yet productivity encouraging atmosphere.
Idea, Concept, Branding, Social media
Accessible, central, inspiring and and feels-like-home space for those who want to work from home, but don't have enough space of their own.
Based on the brand's key values and color psychology, I chose Yellow Green as the main color as a symbol of harmony, balance and freshness in combination with Dark Purple, which symbolizes creativity and wisdom.
Logo creation was most fun, because it was supposed to combine things packed together, which you don't meet every day: Slippers (Schlabba means Slippers in Badisch), Snail (slow relaxed working) and Black Forest Clock (for obvious reasons :-))
After drawing the first version (*) I was feeling somehow happy about it, but I gave it time and decided to draw more versions the next day. All of them seemed weird except for the third one (**) which was chosen to go on with. Here's the final version:
The project was fun to create, although It's not completely finished. There's also a web site and a mobile app that have to be made (coming soon).
